Jazz Artists of Charleston
Jazz Artists of Charleston is non-profit organization incorporated to cultivate an inspiring, professional, and healthy environment for musicians and audience members throughout the area, while also promoting Charleston’s vibrant jazz culture by producing educational programs, concerts, presentations, and special outreach events.
Spirits were high last night at “See Jazz” – a visual exhibition and annual fundraiser for Jazz Artists of Charleston, held at the Charleston Center for Photography. On display were killer images from JAC’s resident photographers Alice Keeney, Priscilla Thomas, Ben Williams, and Reese Moore, along with great original artwork from Nathan Durfee, Michael Moran, Lisa Shimko, and Nick Jenkins. I was also proud to be on hand for the unveiling of a couple new logomarks I recently finished for Jazz Artists of Charleston and their affiliate, the Charleston Jazz Orchestra. I always love the opportunity to play off a mid-century modern vibe (and have it be appropriate, rather than self-indulgent). Big thanks to the cool cats over at JAC for letting me run with this these.
