Poogan’s Porch
Just finished a fun redesign for a Charleston staple…
Tucked away on charming Queen Street, Poogan’s Porch is one of Charleston’s oldest independent culinary establishments, with a fresh approach to Lowcountry cuisine. Recognized by Martha Stewart Living, Wine Spectator and The Travel Channel, this beautifully restored Victorian house is the perfect southern spot for lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch. Since opening in 1976, Poogan’s Porch has been a favorite of well-known celebrities, politicians, tourists and locals alike who rave about this Southern institution. Whether it’s a warm homemade buttermilk biscuit and sausage gravy for brunch, a bowl of she-crab soup for lunch, or our signature buttermilk fried chicken for dinner, your meal at Poogan’s will be unforgettable.
The new look needed to pay homage to the restaurant’s well-known and beloved past, but also offer a fresh, more sophisticated and modernized nod to its future. We began with the logo and basic identity, then moved into signage, menus, ads, and wrapped up last week with the launch of Poogan’s new website.
Lots of local talent involved in this project…
Jenny Badman nailed the tone with some great copy. Limelight Sign Co. didn’t flinch when asked if we could build a sign out of floorboards. (Not only did they do it, but they used wood reclaimed from the restaurant itself.) Paul & Jason hooked us up with tasty photography. And Dwarf Dog Chuck destroyed the website development.
