The Occupy Poster Project

I was excited to be asked by printing pals The Half and Half to contribute to the Occupy Poster Project, and am even more excited to see the effort has enlisted some pretty serious help – James Victore, Art Chantry, and recent ADC Young Gun Dan Cassaro, to name a few of the occupiers…

Yesterday’s News

First off, please forgive the obnoxious length of this post. It’s been a rockin’ few months. Lots of exciting news to share, but I’ve been too busy to keep up with posting any of it. As the pile has grown, the task of presenting it all has become more and more daunting. So now, rather than hitting you with twenty annoying mini-posts, I figured I’d bazooka you with a single (but perhaps still equally annoying)…

For the Love of Andrea

Andrea Voss Vellinga was critically injured in the stage collapse that took place at the Indiana State Fair on August 13, 2011 and now lies in a hospital bed fighting for her life. More information on Andrea’s story can be found at fortheloveofandrea.com – a site set up by friends and family to provide updates on her condition and coordinate support efforts – along with a rapidly growing Facebook community.

Poogan’s Porch

Just finished a fun redesign for a Charleston staple…

Tucked away on charming Queen Street, Poogan’s Porch is one of Charleston’s oldest independent culinary establishments, with a fresh approach to Lowcountry cuisine. Recognized by Martha Stewart Living, Wine Spectator and The Travel Channel, this beautifully restored Victorian house is the perfect southern spot for lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch. Since opening in 1976, Poogan’s Porch has been a favorite of well-known celebrities, politicians, tourists and locals

…

Visualive

Every now and then you get approached by a new client with a business idea so good, all you can think is “why hasn’t this been done already?” Such was the case when the fellas at Visualive got in touch looking for an identity. In a nutshell, Visualive is a network of HDTVs located in businesses and public spaces around Charleston, all connected to a central interface – the Visualive.tv website.
Ocean Surf Shop

As somebody who surfs every chance he can get (when Charleston manages to get a couple waves larger than rowboat wake), I was stoked to team up with Folly Beach’s Ocean Surf Shop on a rebrand.

A unique boutique for the board-riding super-freak, Ocean Surf Shop has all of the beach toys, gear and expert advice you’ll need to get on to the beach and into the waves.

I do.

A couple months ago I got hitched. Aside from celebrating the beginning of a lifelong adventure with my best friend (I’d be remiss to not mention the obvious), the occasion also gave me the rare chance to be my own client. Much to my <del>fiance’s</del> wife’s credit, she handed over full creative control of our invitations, saying simply “I’m sure I’ll love whatever you come up with.”

When the bourbon ran dry and the gun smoke cleared, JFD proudly carried home six awards – four gold, a silver, and a bronze. For a better look at this year’s winners…
