Just finished a batch of limited edition silkscreened posters and t-shirts for this year’s Charleston Peace One Day Festival. The prints are all signed & numbered, 18″ x 24″ with blue, brown, and metallic copper inks on 100 lb. natural stock. As usual, a big thanks to The Half and Half for a spot-on printing job. The shirts are 2-color on American Apparel t’s. All will be for sale tomorrow night (Wednesday, September 1st) from 7-10 pm at Mellow Mushroom in downtown Charleston as part of CP1D’s inaugural PeaceMob rally, along with 15% of Mellow Mushroom’s sales also being donated to the cause. So stop by, drop some coin, and feel good about yourself.

Just finished this illustration for a project the College of Charleston’s putting together to welcome incoming students. The final image being sent to press actually has a lot more goin’ on (a city skyline, trees, road signs, etc), but there’s something soothing about looking back, removing all those elements, and leaving only the open road.
Did I just unknowingly drop some sort of poignant, metaphorical commentary on life? Maybe, maybe not.

This weekend J Fletcher Design moves into its new location – across town to greener pastures with central air and client seating that doesn’t involve the words “tall,” “grande,” or “venti.” Stay tuned for bigger and better things…

I’ve got a buddy up in New York who refuses to let this one die.
One of the first design awards (and clearly I’m using that term loosely) I ever received was a South Carolina Press Association award for this beast, assembled seven years ago during my time at The Post and Courier. What do you get when you masterfully Photoshop a delicious sandwich into a photo of a submarine preparing to dive, and then top the whole thing off with brilliant typography? A heaping help of sarcasm, for one thing, but you also get a plaque to hang on your wall and an inside joke that’ll follow you to the grave. No matter what career milestone I hit or what honor I manage to take home, in the eyes of my pals I can’t ever top “Subs To Sink Your Hunger.”
This one’s for you, Kyle.

The Half and Half were bumpin’ around Charleston yesterday and stopped by for a visit, some prints and a sweet little gift in hand – a Pecha Kucha 4 poster converted into a box of notecards. Totally rad. Hit them up for all your screen printing needs.
